    Hi silver2k,

Can you please take a better picture of the bottom of the PCB with more lighting? It looks like there might still be solder in the joint and maybe it did not adhere to the connector properly.

Hi, yes. I will take a photo tonight.

There is definitely solder still in the hole on the PCB. I took a look to see if it would be a simple fix. Unfortunately with the switches on the plate it was not.

    Thank you for your help.

This is the clearest photo I could get. Will you be repairing this under warranty? I really want this keyboard and can’t order it anywhere else. This is a fantastic keyboard other than this issue.

Slightly unrelated, but is it important to completely close the board openings for the keys with solder? I’m a soldering novice.

Maybe not. I was going off of the build guide, seems like they aren’t. Build guide

    Hi All,

It looks like the FRiEQ cables from Amazon will work well if you want to buy your own cables. They are the same as the Monoprice cables except they have a braided sleeve. Also I am still waiting to hear from Massdrop about cable replacements for those who purchased the Infinity ErgoDox there.

    Hi Adam,

It is not required but is preferable. Filling the holes with solder will insure that there will be no connectivity issues with the switches. In the build guide Alex did not solder all the switches with solder in case he needed to de-solder them for more pictures/troubleshooting.

    Hey OverKill,

Thanks for all the work you are putting into the USB cable problem. Both the cables you have recommended don’t ship internationally at a reasonable price.

Are there any things to look for, if I am looking to source one closer to home ?

I’m part of the Massdrop order and while my order has not arrived, I’m wanting to get a new cable before I put it together.

    Thanks

    Hi Walms,

daniel.walmsley from the MD comments section suggested this one for international shippers:

I would assume they should work fine 🙂

Just curious of the pictures you asked me to take reveal anything about why my USB receptacle isn’t functioning?

Any update on the micro usb connector issue and how this will be supported? I have not heard by from Massdrop or Input Club yet. Slightly anxious, as my keyboard is useless. I can’t even attempt to repair it as all of the switches are on and the backplate blocks it.

Pinging again to see if the pictures I was asked to provide lead to any answers regarding failure of my USB receptacle?
